Shirley was the oldest daughter of Preston and Vera. She is mentioned in "The Indomitable Tin Goose" on page 38 and I believe at least one other page. Preston Tucker's fathers name was Shirl. Preston had a brother William born in 1905.

The Tucker family owns a restaurant in (I think) Ann Arbor, MI. Their website is www.tuckerscafe.com and you can e-mail them from there.

Tucker's Cafe

Postby john knopf » Thu Apr 04, 2002 2:13 am

John Tucker, Jr. (Preston's grandson) no longer owns the cafe in Ypsilanti's Depot Town. My dad and I went to get ice cream there last Fall, and the place was no longer Tucker's Cafe, much to our surprise and dismay!

Tucker's Family

Postby 1Robert » Mon Oct 21, 2002 3:20 am

I am curious how many of Preston and Vera's children are still living at this time. I know Vera died in the early '90's (the date escapes me) I found Preston's grave on line at "Find a Grave", and it showed the addition of Vera.
I am sorry to hear that the Tucker family does not own the cafe anymore. Any ideas as to what the family is doing now?
Tucker Cafe and Family

Postby Beth » Wed Oct 23, 2002 6:50 am

I just found that Preston Tucker is buried at Michigan Memorial Cemetery (where my late husband , who was a big fan , was laid to rest nearly 11 years ago) I plan to visit his grave this week . I also plan to visit the Cafe this weekend . (My baby is in the hospital at Uof M Mott Childrens) We get out for luch or dinner while he sleeps . I will find and track down all the info I can about the Cafe , who runs it and how to get in touch with the family . I will share all that I find by Monday . I want to find the house where it all took place as well . Any one know ? Thanks .

I hope nothing it is nothing serious with your baby.
Preston and Vera's gravestone has a Tucker molded into it. If you ask the 'groundskeeper', I believe he knows where the grave is.

You will sorry to hear the cafe is no longer open. It closed down over a year ago. It was owned by John Tucker Jr., Preston's grandson. The address of the house escapes me right now. If I remember it, I will post it.
